School Wide Performance
"In This World Together"
Our school meets the need for exposure to dance and performing arts programs at the elementary school level as a Magnet Performing Art School and in accordance with the California and National Standards, providing an introduction to creative movement, sequencing, aesthetic valuing and concepts of performance using multiple dance forms, including ballet, modern, samba, swing and African dance.
We conclude our year with a school-wide performance.
Work and planning has been put in by not only our students, but our staff .
Special thanks to Ms. Barnett and Ms. Lewis
Healthy Kids
Continuing with our mission to create school environments that reflect a commitment to the health and well-being of our students so they will be healthy, happy and ready to achieve their full potential, our 5th graders had the chance to be hands on preparing a salad... as they comment, was delicious!
The Best of the Best
Spelling Bee 2011
The spelling bee was rigorous academic competition among the students of Luther Burbank Elementary where there was fierce competition among there classmates. It was held using traditional spelling bee rules where they had to be able to spell the words correctly on their first attempt. The words were difficult and even gave the students several challenges that they were able to overcome. The participating classes were Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grade , and they all competed well and made the teachers of Luther Burbank Elementary proud.
Congratulations to all and to Diana Jung our School Champion!

Chinese Acrobats - December 2010
The art of Chinese acrobatics combines both physically and spiritually. Coupled with an acrobat's immense athletic strength and impeccable balance and timing is the Asian philosophy of inner strength , which focuses the body and mind to work in perfect harmony. Each individual acrobat's physical and philosophical strength combines with that of the fellow members of his or her troupe in magnificent displays of balancing, juggling, dance, comedy, magic... and after a spectacular show we had our own students demonstrating some tricks.
